Inspiring Children Through Compassion and Partnership
A meaningful and heartfelt visit took place at the Wenji Kuriftu Project, as Ato Ketsela Mengistu, President of Covenant International (Canada), spent time with children and families supported through the program.
During his visit, Ato Ketsela went to the home of one of his sponsored children, 14-year-old Shito Lampeso, who is currently in Grade 4. Shito lives in extremely challenging conditions. Her mother, who struggles with mental illness, works tirelessly to provide for the family by collecting leftover tomatoes and selling them to earn a small income. Despite her resilience, the difficult living situation has affected Shito’s education, causing her to fall behind in school.
Later, all sponsored children living in Wenji gathered at the project office, where they were warmly addressed by Ato Ketsela Mengistu and Ato Natnael Mesfin, Executive Director of Vision for Ethiopia. Their powerful messages encouraged the children to stay committed to their education, believe in their potential, and strive to support their families and communities in the future. The session was filled with inspiration, hope, and renewed motivation.
The visit concluded in Bishoftu at the SGEDA project office, a valued partner of Vision for Ethiopia. The teams held productive discussions on strengthening collaboration, exploring new partnership opportunities, and sharing important ideas to enhance their collective impact.
This visit reflects the power of partnership, compassion, and commitment in transforming lives and building a brighter future for children and communities.
