Vision for Ethiopia is a local development and humanitarian organization established in 2006 with registration number 0311. The organization is dedicated to transforming communities holistically by working with Children, Youths, and Women to provide compressive development, humanitarian and relief projects in Amhara, Oromiya, Tigray, Diradawa, and Addis Ababa city administration. We are deeply committed to improving society’s quality of life by fulfilling societal needs, such as Protection, Education, Health & Nutrition, WASH, Gender equality, elderly support and providing emergency support for internally displaced people and refugees in Ethiopia.
A holistic approach is about caring for the whole person by providing for the physical, mental, spiritual, and social needs. It’s rooted in the understanding that all these aspects affect the overall health, and being unwell in one aspect affects others. Vision for Ethiopia promotes and works in a holistic approach to ensure community development in social, emotional, physical, mental and intellectual ways.
The unique nature of our organization is that Ethiopians and Eritreans living in Canada and Germany support almost all Child sponsorship programs. Currently, with this Child Support project more than 800 Children receive one-to-one support every month. The Christian diaspora community in Canada and Germany works together to respond to the need for our society’s challenge by sharing their love practically. This is not common in Ethiopia and changes the attitude and practices of relating donation only to White people. The other unique nature is the diaspora Eritreans give support to Ethiopian children by breaking boundaries. This is a practical example to show the brotherhoods of the two people and the importance of sustainable peace in the community.
Vision for Ethiopia raises local resources at different times by mobilizing the diaspora Ethiopian community and the local community to respond to the humanitarian needs in the country. Mobilizing local resources increases the sustainability of community initiatives and fundamentally supports the viability and effectiveness of projects and organizations, driving them toward achieving their mission and amplifying their impact. With these initiatives, Vision for Ethiopia gives local solutions at different times for the humanitarian needs in the country.

My name is Eskedar Zewde. I am 18 years old and taking Grade 10 in Basso Secondary School. I have been sponsored by Vision for Ethiopia since I was 7 years old. Back then I lost my parents and didn’t have any means to fulfill my basic needs, especially hunger for food. However, Vision for Ethiopia sponsored me and supplied food, educational classes and school material and all the medical treatment I needed.
Now the project has offered to give me beauty salon training in my spare time for three months. I am very grateful for them for this opportunity. In return, I am volunteering to help train others who were in the same situation as I was.

I’m Solomon Feleke, and I want to share my heartfelt gratitude to Vision for Ethiopia for sponsoring me since I was 7 years old. They have been my pillar of support, providing me with essential needs like food, school uniforms, tutorial classes, and medical care.
Today, I am proud to be a student at Debre Birhan Technical College, where I am pursuing my passion for becoming an auto mechanic through a comprehensive 3-level program. In my spare time after regular classes, I have the privilege of training other sponsored children, and it brings me immense joy to share my knowledge and skills with them.
I am truly thankful to Vision for Ethiopia for believing in my potential and giving me the tools to build a better future. Their support has transformed my life, and I am excited to continue making a positive impact in the lives of others.
Thank you, Vision for Ethiopia, for being my guiding light and helping me achieve my dreams

My name is Meron, and I am one of the sponsored children from the Kuriftu project. Through hard work and dedication, I have consistently achieved first rank with very distinctive grades, maintaining an average of 97% since Grade 5. My vision for my future drives me to continue my education with the same level of commitment.
I am grateful to Vision for Ethiopia for their unwavering support, providing me with scholastic materials, uniforms, nutrition, and educational assistance. This support, along with advice and psychosocial support from the center office, has been crucial in my success. I hope to inspire other students to work hard and give their best in their education. My name is Yonas Asemahegne. Raised by my mother alone after my father, a soldier, went missing, we faced many hardships. My life changed when my mother brought me to the Vision for Ethiopia Association’s Debre-Berihan project. For the past 12 years, I have received support in education, health, and psychosocial care.
Attending the school built by the association, I excelled academically, ranking first in my class with an average score of 98.99. Last year, I scored 611 on the Grade 12 National Exam, placing me among the top 200 students in the country. I owe my success to the unwavering support from the Vision for Ethiopia Association, their monthly sponsorship, weekly counsel, and God’s guidance. I am incredibly grateful and proud of what I have achieved.

The support I received—education, health, psychosocial, and more—helped me excel in school. I graduated from Dire Dawa University with a degree in accounting in February 2023. Now, I am employed and able to support myself. I am incredibly grateful to my sponsors for their unwavering support throughout the years. Their contributions have truly transformed my life, and I hope others in need can find similar opportunities through hard work and dedication.
