Empowering Young Minds: Excellence Awards in Tigray
In the Tigray region, the impact of the recent conflict is still deeply felt. Many schools remain occupied by internally displaced families (IDPs), disrupting the learning environment and placing an even heavier burden on children—many of whom support their parents while trying to continue their education.
Despite these challenges, these remarkable students continue to push forward. This year, several children achieved Excellency Awards, recognizing their hard work, resilience, and outstanding academic performance.
The event took place in Shire, Tigray, where the Excellency Awards were presented by Vision for Ethiopia Association (VEA) in partnership with Children Believe. The award is designed to motivate students to keep striving for excellence and to inspire others to follow their example.
What makes this even more inspiring is that most of the award recipients are girls, demonstrating their strength, determination, and leadership in a challenging environment.
